Hi! My name is Arash Ashrafzadeh, and I'm a final-year PhD student in computer science at Heriot-Watt
university.
I am supervised by Dr. Arash Eshghi and
Dr. Julian Hough. Before this, I received my
BSc in Computer Science from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).
Broadly speaking, my research topic is computational linguistics & conversational AI, and more
specifically,
I work on Real-time Dialogue Processing.
In particular, I am interested in Incremental Semantic Parsing and Incremental NLG
from Symbolic Semantic Representations. And if I was banned from academic research, I would probably become a DJ.
